The Post at Impact Ranch
Since budget cuts have eliminated the state supervision programs, The Journey's Impact Ranch in Mona, Utah has been granted contracts to serve DJJS youth. The facility formerly housed 25 state supervision youth in a 45 day program. The facility has recently been re-licensed as a residential treatment center (YRM code), and the facility has been changed to serve two programs under the graduated sanctions.
The ranch can now serve males in the Property Offense category, for a 4 to 12 month program, the program will also treat male, high risk non-compliant category clients for a 3 to 6 month program. The two programs will utilize the same facility, and will share the school provided by Nebo School District, but will be completely separate for daily programming, living quarters, groups, and activities. The property offense program will be called "The Forge at Impact Ranch" and the non-compliant program will be called "The Post at Impact Ranch". The theme for both will be a western theme, and work and outdoor education will still be the vehicle for change. Both programs will participate in a monthly trek, do work on the ranch and various service projects in the community, have a regular school program, and attend PRS and therapy groups which are geared for their specific issues. Also, each client will have individual and family therapy. We are excited to start this new phase of service for Impact Ranch and know we can help kids change and stay out of the system when they return home.
